The day was a little warm, but intermittent sprinkles and some passing clouds helped ward off the worst of the heat. When I arrived, the bride and groom were just about ready, the house was bustling with last minute wedding prep activity, and the kitchen smelled divine. They obviously have some talented friends because I got confused and assumed one was the wedding planner.
Jaime and Chris wrote their own vows, which always means a strong likelihood there will not be a dry eye in the place. Jaime was thoroughly overcome with emotion, but managed quite nicely regardless. Both she and Chris prepared such heart-warming and meaningful pledges to one another. So yes, I saw plenty of guests wiping away tears when they thought no one was looking.
They chose to honor the children in the context of their wedding with a Family Sand Ceremony. And boy were these two cute! It is an absolute pleasure to witness the unconditional love parents and step-parents express to their children on such an important day.
Marriage is the ultimate confession the measure of one’s life is forever linked to
the other, for what was separate has
now become whole and complete.
