I was in a fantastic mood when I arrived at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront on October 20, 2012 because the Florida Tech men's soccer team had just beaten Barry 2-1 and my "summer son" scored the winning goal. But I doubt you came here to read about soccer, so we'll move right along to the wedding.
Justina and Steven were also in fabulous moods when I greeted them upon my arrival. They had decided to take their pictures together before the ceremony, so the atmosphere was quite relaxed. Not a nerve in sight! Well, maybe Justina's dad was a wee bit anxious about his role, but after a little coaching he was as relaxed as the rest of the wedding party.
I was also thrilled to see Frederick from Sophisticated Gents on the deck. My husband noticed my face light up, immediately took possession of my sound equipment, and took it right back out to the car.
A special thank you to Amber Ryan for providing these pictures!
Justina and Steven's ceremony was held on the deck overlooking the ocean. It was a bit of a tight squeeze considering the number of guests, but the hotel arranged the set up beautifully. The temperature was ideal and the light breeze gave the evening a nice autumn feel without wrecking havoc on decorations, dresses and hairstyles.
Considering the venue, the vendors, and the decision to take pictures before the wedding, it should come as no surprise to anyone the ceremony began right on time.
Steven and Justine chose to include both the Wine and Letterbox and the Sand Ceremony in their spiritual wedding. The way we slightly revised the Wine and Letterbox worked really well as a transition into their exchange of vows.
