Michelle and Roeun: Country Club Elegance In The Perfect Light!

Their photographer, Jeanee James, helped pick the start time for the ceremony to ensure optimal lighting. She absolutely nailed it!
I met Michelle and Roeun almost a year ago. They attended one of my marriage education classes in 2012 where I quickly discovered Roeun has a sense of humor that would make him fit right in with my family. Michelle is going to have her hands full keeping up with his antics!

The rehearsal was absolute chaos, but not because of their large wedding party. The Suntree Country Club had scheduled a huge Florida Tech fundraiser that evening and by huge I mean people were parking practically into Orange County. We did manage to assemble everyone and have a fairly orderly rehearsal eventually. We just had to ignore the cars everywhere and the Florida Tech alums partying it up in the marquee behind us.

Michelle and Roeun were attended by eight bridesmaids, nine groomsmen, two flower girls and two ring bearers. Did I mention it was a large wedding party? I don't think it quite broke a personal record, but it certainly came close. While everyone else was in formal attire, the ring bearers wore chinos with white golf shirts. The shirts had their names embroidered on the front and "RING SECURITY" embroidered in block lettering across the back. How fabulous is that?
Buds Etc. did another phenomenal job with the flowers. I thought I recognized Patti's handiwork when I arrived at the club. I certainly wasn't surprised to find the pictures on Facebook later that weekend. Her blue and cream creations were just spectacular with Michelle's stunning dress and the lovely short blue bridesmaid's frocks.

I understand this was the first American wedding Roeun's Cambodian parents have ever attended. I hope they enjoyed the ceremony as much as I did. Michelle and Roeun chose to include a lovely Rose Ceremony within their spiritual wedding. The wind destroyed their vase prior to the wedding, but the ceremony actually does not require one so I doubt the guests detected anything amiss.

DJ Brett James provided the entertainment and boy have I missed him. Alas, I'll not likely be doing any weddings with him again any time soon as he's been transferred to Oklahoma. He flew back for Michelle and Roeun's wedding, and I'm delighted he did, so I could say goodbye properly.

Michelle and Roeun enjoyed spectacular weather, perfect timing, and as far as I could tell, minimal typical wedding I uhiccups. You cannot ask for much more than that!

LuWayne DeMoranville of Heavenly Belles has been doing Michelle's hair for ages so naturally, she would do the wedding party's hair and makeup. What an amazing job, too. The ladies were all picture perfect!

We let our photographer help us pick the ceremony time too. My mom thought that was weird. Glad to know we're not the only ones. :-)
