June 10, 2012 marked my sixth anniversary as an independent wedding officiant. I've presided at a ceremony as far away as New Jersey and several as nearby as my own living room. I've officiated secular, humanist, spiritual, non-denominational Christian, Unitarian Universalist and inter-faith ceremonies. I've declared couples married in English and Spanish and once in very poor German. I've celebrated private elopements with just the couple in attendance and managed the emotional energy of a wedding with over 500 family and friends. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this!
