Rites of passage are an important part of life whether we are members of a religious community, consider ourselves "spiritual but not religious," or are completely secular. In ritual, our joys are multiplied and sorrows divided when loved ones gather to celebrate our greatest happiness or alleviate our deepest pain.  While the site is primarily devoted to weddings, it is my honor and pleasure to assist you with child dedications or memorial services - any ritual for which you feel a professional would be helpful and appropriate.

I am primarily a wedding officiant and not a wedding planner. After I was approached a few times by couples wanting a small reception for a limited number of guests immediately following their wedding ceremony, I decided I could accommodate that particular need. So I began offering my Intimate Wedding Package. I create and officiate a beautiful and meaningful ceremony then happily function as the MC for a lovely little half-hour reception with the basic traditions of the cake cutting and toasting the couple. This type of affair is perfect for "simple, but elegant" and "small, but romantic" and is intended for private elopements to a party of approximately twelve guests or so.

 

More than that is beyond my capabilities. If you have a larger guest list or envision elaborate decorations such as an arch and tiki torches, send me an email at brevardminister@cfl.rr.com and I will happily refer you to at least two or three awesome people who will knock themselves out providing you with the package wedding of your dreams (and yes, I can still officiate the wedding ceremony if you would like me to do so).

What is an Intimate Wedding Package?

It is a meaningful wedding ceremony followed by a short, but lovely reception with background music, a cake cutting and toast to the bride and groom. If you prefer a romantic experience rather than simply appearing before the clerk of the court, but do not want an elaborate affair--an Intimate Wedding Package at Rotary Park in Suntree on the river, Pelican Beach Park or Hightower Beach Park in Satellite Beach or at my home in Melbourne might suit your needs.

Package Includes:

Ceremony

  • Wedding Officiant

  • Sand Ceremony, Wine Ceremony, Knot Ceremony, Bell of Truce...(I provide the items required for any rituals the couple would like to include within their wedding ceremony)

  • Keepsake Marriage Certificate

  • Personalized ceremony created to honor your unique relationship

Reception

  • Music

  • Wedding Cake: Ceremonial Cutting of the Cake with Sterling Silver

  • Formal Toast: Champagne and/or Non-alcoholic Cider

  • Table decor including plates, cutlery, and napkins. (every attempt is made to accommodate color preferences)

Ceremony & Reception

  • White Silk Bridal Bouquet and Boutonniere for use during the ceremony and reception

  • Photography (My package is priced to include a competent amateur photographer. If professional photographs are a priority for you, I am happy to refer you to reasonably priced and delightful photographers with whom I have experience and trust completely.)

Are there any keepsakes we take home with us?

Absolutely!

The bridal couple takes home:

* Keepsake Marriage Certificate

* Printed Copy of Complete Wedding Ceremony

* Sand Ceremony Vase, Unity Candle, Knot Ceremony Cords, Bell....(you get the idea)

* A CD of .jpg files mailed within a week of any pictures taken on my camera. The photographer can also take pictures using your camera so you have immediate access to your photos.

* Any leftover cake and beverage

* Perhaps one or two other little tokens

 

 

How much does an Intimate Wedding Package cost?

The exact package cost depends upon your unique circumstances. I realize not all couples will want exactly the same wedding, the number of guests will vary and some items in the package may not be applicable. For example, one couple arranged for fresh flowers on their own rather than use the silk arrangements I provide. As mentioned above, we can bring in a professional photographer at a separate cost payable directly to the photographer. I am also willing to entertain other reasonable requests within my ability to provide. I arranged for a guitarist and bubble favors for one couple. The following prices are considered fairly typical for budgetary purposes. I recommend a consultation meeting to determine your exact needs and expectations. All package costs are determined up front at the time of contract so there are never any budgetary surprises.

Some people are a little surprised I am willing to host a wedding at my home for complete strangers, but I honestly do not mind. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy entertaining and are not the least bit inconvenienced. We have hosted weddings with anywhere from one to twenty-four guests. The twenty-four guest wedding was a bit of a surprise and not at all standard. As mentioned above, up to about a dozen guests is my comfort zone. The pictures below may give you an idea of what the setup for a wedding on my pool deck can look like. This can be an attractive option for couples concerned about having a convenient alternative in the event of inclement weather. My pool deck faces due west with the occasional spectacular sunset, but of course that comes with no guarantees.

I am afraid I am unable to provide a wedding dress and tuxedo....unless the bride happens to be a size 8 and the groom is a 42 long. Then we might be able to talk. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and am certainly willing to entertain special requests.
