Rites of passage are an important part of human life whether we are members of a religious community, consider ourselves "spiritual but not religious," or are completely secular. Our loved ones gather with us to celebrate our greatest happiness or alleviate our deepest pain. Our joys are multiplied and our sorrows divided in a communal context in which ritual, whether religious or secular, is involved. This site is primarily devoted to weddings, but it is my pleasure and an honor to assist you with commitment and vow renewal ceremonies, child dedications and baptisms, or memorial services and funerals - any ritual for which you feel a professional celebrant would be most appropriate.

Registration now open for the autumn marriage education class!

If you see a Red thumbtack with the words "Contract Pending" on the calendar, the date and time may still be available. If you see such a conflict, I will be happy to contact the couple to see if they intend to confirm their booking.

There are 24 sample ceremonies within this section of my website, and that does not remotely scratch the surface of what is possible!

There are as many potential wedding ceremonies as there are couples desiring to unite as one. Each wedding and commitment ceremony I officiate is unique and tailored to the personalities and expectations of the couple involved. There really is not a "typical wedding" although most follow a familiar pattern.

I cannot possibly present all permutations, but I offer a few samples to give you an idea of weddings I have written and officiated previously. I cannot emphasize enough that you needn't select one of these weddings in its entirety (unless you are absolutely enamored with it) or even any of them at all. We can mix and match elements from different weddings, amend a section or two, or craft something completely new. Just as no two relationships are alike, no two wedding ceremonies are identical.

I have attempted to include a selection that offers as wide an assortment of elements and rituals as possible. Even if you are not Celtic, African-American, Jewish, Christian or desiring a Civil Ceremony be sure you check them out anyway. There may very well be an element in the wedding that you would like adapted to your own tradition.

The Spanish ceremony is not exactly a sample ceremony though all of the crucial elements are there. That page contains sections of a wedding ceremony translated into Spanish.

Again, YES...you can mix and match. But we can also create something unique just for you.
